Princess Kate 'finally gave in' to Prince William's key decision for George's future

The Princess of Wales is said to be “heartbroken” over a decision made by Prince William for their eldest son’s future. The mother-of-three is reportedly feeling sad at the thought of Prince George, 10, being shipped off to Eton College once he turns 13.

Kate and William toured Eton College last year, with plans to send him there after he turns 13 in 2026. However, Princess Kate is said to have initially been against the idea before agreeing with William, who is keen for his son to follow in his footsteps.

A royal insider told In Touch Weekly: “Kate long disagreed with her husband about sending him away, even though it’s tradition.

“Kate thinks sending him to such a stuffy, upper-crust institution goes against all of their efforts to modernise the monarchy. Plus, she’ll miss George desperately. She and William argued about it for years, but he has finally won.”

William and his younger brother, Prince Harry both attended the Berkshire-based school – with William enrolling there in 1995.

The insider reported that Kate “finally gave in” after acknowledging that George’s desire was to “be just like his father”.

They added: “But she’s still heartbroken. She was horribly bullied at her first boarding school, and can’t bear the thought of George suffering through that.”
