Princess Kate dons £530 'unique' necklace whenever she's away from her three children

The Princess of Wales, 41, occasionally wears a delicate chain by British jewellery designer Daniella Draper, priced at £530.

Kate debuted the necklace during her and Prince William’s visit to Scotland in May 2021.

The piece, made from recycled yellow gold, features the letters G, C and L – representing Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, eight, and Prince Louis, four, who did not join their parents on the tour.

Referred to as the “Gold Fixed Alphabet Necklace”, its description says: “The Alphabet Collection is designed to be playful yet classic. Made using 100 percent recycled solid sterling silver and nine-carat yellow gold.

“Choose your own name, a loved one’s initials or simply a word that means something to you. Wear alone or layer with other DD necklaces to create your own unique look!”

The necklace comes in three different lengths of chains, with the longest 20-inch chain costing £590.

When Kate first wore the necklace, she teamed the jewel with her Ralph Lauren cable knit jumper, which is no longer available to buy.

In addition, the Princess wore black trousers and 2750 Cotu Classic Superga trainers that cost £65.

The shoes are described as “extra strong and fully breathable”. In addition, the trainers feature “a lightweight, simple canvas tennis shoe with our vulcanised rubber sole”.

The shoes have “full versatility and are the very definition of smart casual”, according to the product description.

Kate’s necklace is one of several she has in her collection which pays homage to her three children, helping her keep them close to her heart.

She’s clearly a fan of Daniella Draper, as the Princess also owns the £1,050 “Personalised Gold Midnight Moon Necklace”, which is engraved with the letters “G, L, C” and a trio of stars.

Kate first wore this necklace during a visit to Cardiff in January 2020 to launch a landmark survey on early childhood development.

Online, the product description reads: “The moon is universally representing the rhythm of time as it embodies the cycle.

“The phases of the moon symbolise immortality, eternity and enlightenment.”

Daniella Draper, who originally is from Cleethorpes, Lincolnshire, acknowledged in the past that her business got a lucky break when she was 21 because Kate Moss was photographed wearing her silver bangles.

Over a decade later, her brand is now popular among the likes of Ellie Goulding, Brooklyn Beckham, Ed Sheeran, Chloe Grace Moretz, and Kate, Princess of Wales.
