Princess Kate and Prince William could be about to break one key royal tradition

Eton College remains one of the most established educational institutions in the world, with the school becoming home to royals and future Prime Ministers.

The independent boarding school, based in Windsor, has helped forge the careers of Britain’s public figures, including Boris Johnson, David Cameron and Prince William and Harry.

Prince George was billed as a potential future student at Eton, following in the footsteps of his father Prince William, who attended the school back in 1995.

But Eton College may not be the school that Prince George finds himself at, as Prince William and Princess Kate may break royal tradition by moving the youngster to Malborough College, according to MailOnline.

Speculation grew that Prince George will follow in his mother’s footsteps, and be educated at Marlborough College in Wiltshire, as Princess Kate recently toured the £47,000-a-year school for the second time in as many months, this time accompanied by Prince George.

The Princess of Wales has recently toured the £47,000-a-year co-educational school for the second time in as many months – this time accompanied by her husband and ten-year-old George.

Kate is said to not be a fan of single-sex schools like Eton, with reports suggesting she “absolutely hated” her time at Downe House, an all-girls boarding school in Berkshire, where she was allegedly targeted by bullies.

However Kate flourished at Marlborough, where she excelled academically and performed well at sports, including hockey and tennis.

Founded in 1843, former pupils at Marlborough College also include Princess Eugenie, Lady (Samantha) Cameron and comedian Jack Whitehall.

In October, Kate revealed that she had been helping him prepare, telling pupils at a secondary school in Cardiff: “George is just at the beginning of being tested.

“He says, ‘Mummy, I keep getting tested all the time.”

Princess missed Prince William’s Earthshot Prize ceremony in Singapore last month, to further support George during his exams.
