Princess Eugenie's candid admission about bond with Beatrice and how she can be 'annoying'

Princess Eugenie has candidly revealed that her relationship with her sister Princess Beatrice is just like any other close sibling bond.

The younger York sister was a guest on Kate Thornton’s White Wine Question Time podcast, where she admitted that even though Beatrice can be “annoying”, they are still the “best of friends”.

She explained: “She’s annoying when she wants to be and I’m really annoying to her back, but we love each other, best of friends.”

The 33-year-old mother of two is currently on maternity leave, having given birth to her second child in May this year, but still regularly asks her family for advice about parenting.

Eugenie said: “She’s a great mum, I always ring her for nearly everything. ‘What do I do about this? What do I do about that?’. Same goes for my mum. Literally, constant.”

The bond between Beatrice and Eugenie, born in 1988 and 1990 respectively, is heightened due to their unusual stations in life, as daughters of Prince Andrew and his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson.

Eugenie opened up on the podcast: “Beatrice and I, our whole lives, we’ve always had each other. We’re the only ones going through exactly what the other is going through at exactly that time as a girl – in our family, our place of work, whatever it is. I think that’s extraordinary to think about.

“We’re not twins, yet you go through life knowing exactly what the other one is going through. She’s my big sissy, she’s a legend.”

Beatrice and Eugenie now have young families of their own, with Beatrice having two-year-old daughter Sienna with her husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, and Eugenie and husband Jack Brooksbank parents to August, two, and Ernest, five months.

Eugenie told the host about her experiences of motherhood, saying: “My kids are so wonderful. Augie is a two-and-a-half-year-old firecracker and just listens to me, I don’t know why. And Ernie smiles the whole time so they’re really easy and wonderful boys.

“There are other things that don’t go well – feeding times are tearing-my-hair-out type moments but sleep is not a problem at the moment.”

After her maternity leave is over Eugenie will resume her job as director at Hauser & Wirth art gallery, as due to being a non-working royal she has to financially support herself.

She, Jack and their young family currently split their time between the UK and Portugal, as he manages the sales and marketing team for luxury resort CostaTerra Golf and Ocean Club.

Beatrice too is employed full-time, as Vice President of Partnerships and Strategy at tech company Afiniti.
