Princess Eugenie opens up in heartfelt chat about very relatable parenting challenges

Princess Eugenie revealed wanting to “tear her hair out” during feeding time with her children while appearing on Kate Thornton’s White Wine Question Time podcast.

The episode, which was released on Friday, covered everything from sleepless nights with children to inspiring women.

Eugenie, 33, described her two children as “wonderful”, saying: “Augie is a firecracker and just listens to me, I don’t know why. And Ernie smiles the whole time so they’re really easy and wonderful boys.”

When asked whether she experienced sleepless nights with her two sons, August, two, and Ernest, five months, she confessed: “If there was a tournament in the Olympics of sleeping, I think I would win it.

“I could sleep for Great Britain as a national sport and so I think my boys have gained that talent, and they are deep, deep sleepers. I hate to say this to all mums listening, but they are really good sleepers.”

Eugenie, 33, also revealed a relatable challenge for parents: “There are other things that don’t go well – feeding times are tearing my hair out type moments but sleep is not a problem at the moment. There’s always sleep regression and things like that coming.”

The princess and Jack Brooksbank recently celebrated their fifth wedding anniversary, posting previously unseen moments from their big day in 2018 on Instagram. Eugenie also shared a photo of a family beach day.

On the podcast, she was also asked about inspiring women in her life. Eugenie said she lives by her mother’s, the Duchess of York, example and called Queen Elizabeth “one of the best people in the world”.

Of her sister Princess Beatrice, she said: “She’s my big sissy, she’s a legend. She’s annoying when she wants to be and I’m really annoying to her back but we love each other, best of friends.”

Princess Eugenie is still on maternity leave from her director role at art gallery Hauser & Wirth.

She recently launched the second series of her podcast Floodlight with her Anti-Slavery Collective co-founder Julia de Boinville. The school friends launched the collective in 2017.
