Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank 'rather homesick' as they make big decision

Princess Eugenie and her husband Jack Brooksbank have reportedly made a big decision on their future after starting to feel “rather homesick” in Portugal.

It comes as Eugenie continues to take on more responsibilties within the Royal Family. Now it is claimed Prince Andrew’s youngest daughter is set to return to the UK with her family.

The 33-year-old is said to be taking on more duties, including having larger roles at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital and other worthy charities, reports OK!.

The source said the young royal feels “happy and fulfilled” when acting as an “ambassador for her family”. It has led to her considering a permanent move back to the UK.

Eugenie and 37-year-old Jack moved abroad in 2022. Since then however, Eugenie has given birth to their second son, Ernest George Ronnie Brooksbank, named after King George V.

An OK! source said: “Eugenie won’t be able to fulfil her roles if she spends so much time abroad. So, she’s decided to spend more and more time in the UK, slowly transitioning to a permanent move back. There are plans to increase her roles with the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital and other worthy charities.”

The magazine reports King Charles’ slimmed-down monarchy has recently become so thin that there was not enough royals to go around. It has led to Princess Eugenie and older sister Beatrice stepping in more.

The source also said a move back to England would mean the Eugenie’s young children could spend more time with their relatives.

The source added: “Official royal engagements are also being discussed where she will step in for senior royals if they are unable to attend. It’s where the princess feels most at home. Getting involved with worthy causes and acting as an ambassador for her family is what she does best. It makes her feel happy and fulfilled.

“Eugenie gets rather homesick if she’s away for too long and she wants her boys to spend more time with their cousins in England.”
