Princess Charlotte's fans await ‘special message’ as Lionesses roar into World Cup Final

Fans of Princess Charlotte are eager to hear her good luck message for the England Women’s football team after they stormed to victory in the World Cup semi-final.

The Lionesses heroically defeated opponents and World Cup hosts Australia in a tense 3-1 win in Sydney today.

Now, fans are keen to hear from Princess Charlotte ahead of their final game against Spain.

Charlotte sent a good luck message to the Lionesses before the Women’s Euros final ahead of their game against Germany at Wembley Stadium via video with her dad Prince William last year.

X user @RoyallyBelle posted: “Prince William and Princess Charlotte sent a good luck message to the Lionesses before the Euros final.

“Hopefully we’ll get a special message for the Lionesses for the World Cup final this weekend.”

The kind message sent by the father and daughter featured in a 10-second clip in which the Prince of Wales said: “We both want to wish the Lionesses the best of luck for tonight.

“You’ve done amazingly well in the competition and we’re rooting for you all the way.”

Princess Charlotte added at the end: “Good luck. I hope you win. Bye!”

While the pair have yet to send another video message together, Kensington Palace, the shared X account of the Prince and Princess of Wales, has already congratulated the team following the tense battle with Australia.

Signed off with a W, indicating the message came from William, the post read: “What a phenomenal performance from the @Lionesses – on to the final! Commiserations to @TheMatildas, you’ve played brilliantly and been fantastic co-hosts of this World Cup.”

The Prince and Princess of Wales have been known to have supported the Lionesses on their entire sporting journey.

Just moments after their last match ended on Saturday, a tweet posted from William and Kate’s Twitter account read: “Bring on the semi-finals! A hard-fought win, well done Lionesses.”

Earlier this year, William surprised England’s manager Sarina Wiegman with an honorary CBE when he met the team to wish them good luck for the World Cup.

Upon meeting the team, William told them, “Huge respect, and go get ’em!”.

Prince William has been President of the Football Association, which is the governing body for England’s football, since 2006.
