Princess Charlotte followed in her mother’s footsteps as she mirrored Princess Kate’s gestures during the tense Wimbledon final, a body language expert has claimed.
The young royal joined the Prince and Princess of Wales and her older brother Prince George for her first appearance at the tournament during the men’s final on Sunday.
Sat next to Kate, Charlotte appeared to be enjoying the match with some animated gestures as the match when down to the fifth set.
Speaking to the Mirror, body language expert Judi James said the mother and daughter shared the same “cut-off” gesture.
Pictures captured Charlotte celebrating Carlos Alcaraz as he defeated the 23-time grand slam champion, Novak Djokovic 1-6, 7-6, 6-1, 3-6, 6-4 to claim his first Wimbledon title.
Ms James said Charlotte “copied Kate’s hand over the face cut-off gestures when the tension got too much”.
She added: “Charlotte and Kate make a very compelling double act with high levels of subliminal mirroring.
“Their heads leant together in a non-verbal sign of synchronicity and as they watched the match they moved or sat in similar positions.”
The royals looked on as Princess Kate and Prince William looked to be explaining the game at some points to eight-year-old Charlotte and nine-year-old George.
As patron of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Cub Kate made her way onto Centre Court where she presented the winner and runner-up trophy to the players.
Earlier in the day, the Princess of Wales had explained Prince Louis was “very upset” he was not attending the game.
Princess Kate said: “It’s Charlotte’s first time, George came last year. They’ve been eagerly watching… Louis was very upset he wasn’t coming today.”
Royal fans were delighted to see Charlotte join the family where she wore an Alitas Dress by Friki, Amelia button-up white cardigan from Reiss and the Siena shoes by Papouelli Shoes and at some points accessorised with some pink sunglasses.
Commenting on the fun accessory, @DemetraAutumn compared the young royal to her fashionista mother saying: “Princess Charlotte in sunglasses just like her mum, she’s already iconic!”
