Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie feeling ‘snubbed' as insider reveals why

Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie believe they can help by carrying out royal engagements, but they have not been asked, and a friend says they’re “very upset” but “not surprised,” reports The Daily Beast.

The Daily Beast’s Tom Sykes says: “Friends of Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie have said they are ‘very upset’ but ‘not surprised’ to have not been asked to carry out any royal engagements while the threadbare Royal Family grapples with a double health crisis.”

A friend of the sisters spoke exclusively to the Daily Beast, saying: “It seems to me that the girls aren’t being used at all when they have made it clear they want to be of service.”

“They are very upset to have been ignored by the king as they feel they have a lot to offer, but ultimately not surprised. They are sanguine about it.”

Beatrice and Eugenie being promoted to senior working royals has been discussed before, with a friend of the Royal Family saying of the matter: “Charles is very fond of the York girls, but everyone, including them, accepts there is no place for them to be full-time working royals.”

“And as the late Queen Elizabeth II made clear, being a part-time working royal isn’t an option.”

Beatrice and Eugenie are both married with children and since they aren’t working royals, they have the option to pursue careers. While they may not carry out royal engagements on an official level, they do support the family by making appearances, which brings attention to the institution.
