Princess Beatrice 'added her own twist' to Queen Elizabeth's £5million 'timeless' tiara

Princess Beatrice, 34, and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, 39, married on July 17, 2020, at the Royal Chapel of All Saints, Royal Lodge, Windsor in 2020.

The ceremony had to have a limited number of guests because of the coronavirus pandemic that was still ongoing at the time.

There were roughly 20 friends and family members in attendance which included the bride and groom’s parents, and the late Queen and Prince Philip.

For the wedding, Beatrice stunned in a recycled dress from Queen Elizabeth’s closet which she wore in the 1950s.

The Princess of York also wore a beautiful tiara with strong ties to the late monarch.

Claire Adler, the founder of Claire Adler Luxury PR, told Express.co.uk: “For her wedding to Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, Princess Beatrice decided to stun in the iconic Fringe Tiara for her special day.”

The expert gave some insight into the jewels that are included in the unique tiara.

Claire said: “This dazzling tiara features 47 diamond bars which are divided by metal spikes to create a unique, modern, yet elegant statement.”

This diadem has strong links to Queen Elizabeth II, which explains why Beatrice may have wanted to wear it at her wedding.

The expert noted: “The tiara was originally owned by Queen Mary and was eventually passed down to Queen Elizabeth II to wear on her wedding day in 1947.

“It famously was her ‘something borrowed’. The £5million diadem has since made an appearance in two more royal nuptials.

“Of course, Princess Beatrice’s but also Princess Anne’s wedding in 1973.”

Claire suggested which royal bride wore the tiara the best out of the late Queen, Princess Anne and Princess Beatrice.

She opined: “Although stunning on all three women, nobody can beat the timeless beauty of Queen Elizabeth.

“The Fringe Tiara paired perfectly with the large flower bouquet she carried and made the perfect statement while not drawing any attention away from the bride’s beauty.”

Despite this, the Princess of York “added her own twist” to the tiara, according to the expert.

Claire claimed: “Beatrice added her own twist to this historic Royal Family tiara, reflecting its geometric design in the intricate lines of silver beading on her unique wedding gown.”

Princess Beatrice and her husband Edoardo are now parents to a one-year-old daughter, Sienna.

Edoardo was previously engaged to Dara Huang, whom with he shares a six-year-old son, Wolfie.

Beatrice and Edoardo have an apartment in St James’s Palace in London, but they are also said to have a property in The Cotswolds.

Although not a working royal, since King Charles has become the monarch, Princess Beatrice has been made a Counsellor of State as she is one of the next six people in line to the throne that are above the age of 21.
