Princess Anne says she has ‘no idea’ what profession she might have chosen in another life

Princess Anne said it is “too late” to consider alternative professions as she reflects on her life as a working member of the Royal Family.

The Princess Royal is the second eldest child of the late Queen Elizabeth II, sister to King Charles III.

Anne has often been named as the hardest working member of the Firm, taking on more than 200 engagements and being involved in more than 300 charities and organisations.

Speaking to The Telegraph about her various charities, Anne discussed what profession she might have chosen “in another life”.

Upon being asked the question, she immediately laughed and said: “You can ask but I’ve no idea.

“It’s way too late to have those concerns – in a way the fortunate part of my life has been the broad spectrum, to see so much.

“Not having a very specific interest has been a bonus, I suppose. We all have ways of doing things and with Whitley it is the practical aspects of what they do, and how to support them [that has been my focus].”

As well as being named the hardest working royal, Princess Anne is said to be the “fun aunt” despite her “stiff and standoffish” outer shell.

Speaking to OK!, former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond said: “Anne can come across as pretty stiff and standoffish, but that is simply part of her professional persona. As I know only too well, she is not keen on cooperating with or opening up to journalists.”

Anne is also said to have a “close bond” with her son-in-law Mike Tindall who is married to her daughter Zara.

Body language expert Judi James spoke exclusively to Express.co.uk about the dynamics between the royals, making some observations about Mike Tindall and Princess Anne after she featured on his podcast.

Judi suggested that the rugby player turned royal has a great effect on the senior Royal Family members, bringing some “fun” to the Firm.

She said: “The body language shown on this podcast is so revealing in terms of some of the genuine relationships between three of the top-tier royals plus one rather fun, cheeky son-in-law.”
