Prince William voted most likely person to unite the US as he tops poll of world leaders

Prince William has come out on top in a poll conducted to find the world leader that most Americans from both ends of the political spectrum can agree on, with a favourability rating of 59 percent.

According to data from the poll, conducted by Gallup, the royal was revealed to be the most likely of all world leaders to unite Democrats and Republicans, beating President Biden and Donald Trump.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky came in second place on 57 percent, while King Charles slipped slightly further down the list at number four, on 46 percent favourability.

William also had the lowest unfavourability rating on 22 percent, in comparison to his father whose unfavourability reached 37 percent, although he still came out with a positive majority.

Far down at the bottom of the list was Vladimir Putin, who had a whopping 90 percent unfavourability rating and was viewed favourably by just five percent of respondents.

William is universally liked meanwhile by both Democrats and Republicans, as more than six in 10 respondents from each political party viewd him in a positive way, 63 percent and 65 percent respectively.

Much of his support comes from middle-aged and older adults, as he has a favourability rating of 38 percent from those aged 18-34, and he is more popular with women than men.

The website explained the reasons behind this trend as that older American women were more likely to remember William’s mother Princess Diana fondly and felt sympathy for him after her tragic death.

They also noted that the Prince of Wales has been in the news a lot for his philanthropic efforts, including launching his Homewards campaign earlier this summer to help tackle homelessness in the UK.

King Charles also receives similar levels of bipartisan support, as half of Republican voters and 49 percent of Democrats view him as a positive figure.

Charles recently received President Biden at Windsor Castle, and the pair expressed a surprising level of warmth towards each other, as commentators noticed a lot of tactility between them.
