Prince William has got himself an electric scooter to help him get around the Royal Family’s Windsor estate, reports suggest.
The 41-year-old heir to the throne is reported to be using the vehicle, which has a top speed of 10mph, to travel from his home at Adelaide Cottage to Windsor Castle.
A source told the Sun: “It just makes sense. He whizzes up to the castle when he needs to see the King.
“It’s a two or three-mile round trip from his family home at Adelaide Cottage to Windsor Castle so it’s easier by scooter than car or walking.”
It isn’t known what kind of e-scooter the future monarch has purchased, with some models selling for up to £6,000.
A number of towns and cities have hire schemes for the vehicles, but apart from these exceptions the vehicles are illegal to ride on public roads.
However, since the Windsor Estate is private land, this is not a problem for William.
The vast estate includes a number of other properties, including Frogmore Cottage, the former home of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
The Prince of Wales, along with his wife and three children, moved to the four-bedroom Adelaide Cottage last summer.
The house, built in the 19th century, underwent a substantial renovation in 2015.
William and Kate’s children attend the nearby Lambrook School, which is just outside Ascot.
