Prince William 'rolls his eyes' over mention of one thing – but 'refuses to complain'

Despite it containing numerous attacks on the royal family, Prince William doesn’t want to “publically complain” about the Crown, according to a royal insider.

A new biography about King Charles has revealed that William “rolls his eyes” whenever someone mentions the Netflix series in front of him. Author of The Making of a King, Robert Hardman, said: “The Prince knows about it. He rolls his eyes when people say that ‘it’s just drama.’

“He knows what they [Netflix] are doing. Yet he will not give it any greater publicity by complaining. He doesn’t like the idea of being seen as a complainer all the time.”

Hardman was told by royal aides that the Prince and Princess of Wales often ask for TV recommendations from their staff with William more into “action flicks”.

The last season of the Crown depicted Princess Diana’s romance with Dodi Fayed and included allegations that she was pregnant at the time of her death.

A royal insider claimed that the allegations would “likely enrage” William who has been “upset by many Crown storylines that have featured his mother”.

The source told The Sun: “Hearing the claims about his mother’s pregnancy and the plot will feel like salt in the wound, particularly as so many of them have been debunked over the years.”

The previously depicted 1995 Panorama interview is also a sensitive subject to the Prince who said it should “never be aired again” in 2021.

William said: “It is my view that the deceitful way the interview was obtained substantially influenced what my mother said. The interview was a major contribution to making my parents’ relationship worse and has since hurt countless others.”

William continued: “It is my firm view that this Panorama programme holds no legitimacy and should never be aired again. It effectively established a false narrative which, for over a quarter of a century, has been commercialised by the BBC and others.”
