Prince William 'absolutely seething' over one claim made by Harry and Meghan's pal

Prince William is “absolutely seething” over one claim made by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s pal Omid Scobie in his latest bombshell book, it has been reported.

The Prince of Wales is said to be outraged with Scobie for claiming that he refused to take Prince Harry’s calls as Queen Elizabeth II lay dying at Balmoral last year.

Speaking on TalkTV, host Kevin O’Sullivan said: “Harry and Meghan are distancing themselves from Omid Scobie’s bombshell new book, which says principly that William refused to take Harry’s calls in the hours leading up to the Queen’s sad death.

“William is absolutely seethingly furious about this. He’s just saying it’s absolutely not true.”

The commentator added that it was “sad” to see the rift between William and Harry growing after it appeared relations were improving between the Sussex camp and Buckingham Palace.

In the first part of his new book Endgame, serialised by People magazine in the US, Scobie writes that Prince Harry was “kept in the dark” about the late Queen’s death and first heard about her death from a BBC News app alert.

The biographer writes: “When Harry’s plane finally touched tarmac twenty minutes later, he received a text from Meghan urging him to call ASAP followed by a breaking news alert via the BBC News app with the announcement of the Queen’s death.”

The Duke of Sussex also reportedly “begged” the Palace not to release a statement on the Queen’s death because he wanted to be with his family when the news broke.

Scobie also writes that the Queen “would have wanted Harry to know that she had died” before the public was made aware.

When Harry was first told to race up to Scotland to be at Her Majesty’s bedside, he reportedly texted William to ask how he and Kate planned to get there, and whether it would be OK for the Sussexes to join them.

He apparently got no response as the Prince of Wales completely blanked him.

The brothers have not been on speaking terms since Harry made several explosives claims about William in his memoir Spare and the following Netflix docu-series.
