Prince Louis's urgent question to the late Queen and her brilliantly dry answer

Prince Louis, the young royal star, asked his great-grandma, the late Queen, a big question during a major event, and her answer was quite witty. Prince Louis has won the hearts of the nation whenever he has been allowed at Royal events with his family.

In 2022, when everyone was celebrating the late Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee, Louis showed off his lively spirit at every event, especially Trooping the Colour.

At the parade for the monarch’s birthday, there’s always a big flypast as the Royal Family waves from the Buckingham Palace balcony. During the jubilee, it was a huge deal, and that’s when Louis, who is now five but was four at the time, asked his great-grandmother something very important.

Lip reader Jeremy Freeman told the Mirror that while Louis was super excited for the Red Arrows to zoom by and making funny faces, he turned to the Queen and asked her something urgent about what was coming up.

“Are the Red Arrows coming?” is what Freeman thinks Prince Louis asked. The Queen gave a classic, no-nonsense reply, saying: “I hope so.”

When the Red Arrows zoomed by with their colourful smoke, the late Queen pointed them out to little Prince Louis. She said, “There it is,” and Louis got very excited, shouting, “Oh Red Arrows, whoa” and cheering “Yes, yes, yes!” when he saw them.

During the show, the planes made a giant ’70’ in the sky to celebrate how many years the late Queen had been on the throne.

The lip-reader added that Queen Elizabeth appears to have then said, “Oh, fun!” when she saw the ’70’. Princess Charlotte was amazed and said “Wow”, and her mum Kate thought it was “Amazing!”

The lip-reader also thinks Prince Louis said “Whoa – that was loud!” and covered his ears because the planes were so noisy. A body language expert also told The Mirror that the way the late Queen and little Louis interacted showed they really liked each other.

The Queen gave Louis a sweet look and chatted with him and Kate. When a Lancaster flew over, it seemed like the Queen got as excited as Louis!

“She clearly loved the roar of the engines and as Louis literally jumped up and down at the sight of the Red Arrows, the Queen smiled and chatted as though sharing the moment,” they said.
