Prince Louis's sweet likeness to mum Kate unveiled in new birthday portrait

In the sweet photo Louis is seen being pushed in a wheelbarrow by his mum, wearing a blue woolly jumper and the famous shorts he is pictured in so often.

Kate also looked happy as she is visible wearing a striped jumper while playing with her son in the garden.

Kensington Palace posted two pictures of the little royal on their official Instagram page with the caption: “Someone’s turning 5 tomorrow… A very happy birthday to Prince Louis.”

Royal fans on social media picked up on the striking family resemblance to the Princess of Wales, as well as how much he looks like her father Michael Middleton.

Other users noticed his similarity to his maternal grandfather Michael Middleton, with Janwilliams2020 saying: “Adorable!!! I think he looks so much like his grandfather Middleton.”

Julesey23 also agreed: “He looks exactly like Kates dad,” while Insta user nannabea4 added: “Double of his Maternal Grandfather.”

The pictures were taken earlier this month on the Windsor estate by photographer Millie Pilkington, close to where the Wales family live at Adelaide Cottage.

Louis and his older siblings Prince George and Princess Charlotte also attend Lambrook School in Windsor, where they started last September.

Charlotte’s birthday will also be celebrated soon, with her turning eight on May 2, while George will be 10 later this year on July 22.

Fourth in line to the throne, Louis was born in 2018 at the private Lindo Wing of St Mary’s Hospital in Paddington, London, weighing 8lb 7oz.

He was christened Louis Arthur Charles at 11 weeks old, by the Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby, at the Chapel Royal at St James’s Palace.

King Charles has five grandchildren, including Prince William’s three children – Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louie – and Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s son Prince Archie and daughter Princess Lilibet.
