Prince Louis gets smoke in his eyes as Wales family toast marshmallows on open fire

William and Kate joined volunteers at the 3rd Upton Scouts Hut to help with works including resetting a path, digging a new soakaway, sanding and revarnishing the front door, adding planters to the front of the building and adding a mural to create a lasting legacy of the Big Help Out’s work.

The 3rd Upton Scouts Hut was built in 1982 and is used by a variety of community groups in the area, including the local mosque, a senior citizens contact group for members of the Asian community as well as the Scouts themselves.

The Princess of Wales has also been Joint President of the Scouts since 2020 and was there to oversee her children’s hard work.

The Big Help Out has been created in tribute to King Charles’s years of dedicated service and is encouraging people to try volunteering for themselves supporting projects in their communities.

The show was a little late for five-year-old Louis, however he once again stole hearts at the Coronation ceremony and balcony appearance on Saturday with his cheeky antics.

He was seen pulling faces during the RAF flypast and drumming on the Buckingham Palace balcony, however his big sister Charlotte made sure to keep an eye on him during the service at Westminster Abbey.

During William and Kate’s visit to the Windsor Long Walk yesterday the prince explained how “tired” his daughter was after the big day.

He said: “She’s very tired after yesterday. She’s having a quiet day at home. It was making sure her little brother behaved himself.”

The couple chatted with members of the public about their children on the walkabout as they shared in the Coronation celebrations with Windsor residents.

William spoke to the Rock Choir who had just performed on a stage on the Long Walk and joked that Prince Louis has been enjoying listening to Led Zeppelin recently.

The royal couple also met members of the Berkshire Theatre School who had performed songs from the musical Matilda earlier in the afternoon.

William told the group: “I can see you’re in Mathilda T-shirts. Charlotte loves the musical Matilda at the moment. She knows all the songs.”
