Prince Harry's pal says he 'made jokes we are no longer allowed to make' before Meghan

Prince Harry hated “all the politically correct stuff” before meeting Meghan Markle, an Eton contemporary claimed in a new biography. The Duke of Sussex, 38, has come under fire for being “woke” in recent months. But before he met Meghan he used to indulge in “jokes that we are no longer allowed to make”.

Harry’s unnamed classmate is quoted in Tom Quinn’s book Gilded Youth as saying Harry was “funny” and “great company” because he joined in with the non-PC jokes.

The Duke has been criticised for being woke because of his championing of new social and environmental causes.

Piers Morgan recently described him as “the king of woke”. He said the Duke was a “shameless, disgusting hypocrite” because of the “unpleasant” way he talks about people in his book Spare.

Harry has recently shared in recent media appearances how he has been able to understand more about his “unconscious bias”.

The schoolmate is reported as saying: “After Meghan came along, he changed completely into what he would once have been the first to mock: a sort of a Guardian-reading tree hugger.

“It was all Meghan’s influence.

“We used to joke that she must be very good in bed to have turned his head that far.”

In his Oprah Interview, Harry said he had never been aware of racial issues because of the “system” he was raised in. But he talked about how having been with Meghan has allowed him to “suddenly become aware”.

In the biography, released yesterday Tom Quinn also spoke to a former Kensington aid who said Harry rarely talked of global warming until he was with Meghan.

In his Netflix Documentary Harry and Meghan, the Duke said he had encouraged other members of the royal family to consider their “unconscious bias”.

Over the months, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have also attended numerous climate change events, including Cop26 in 2021.

Prince Harry also gave a keynote speech at the United Nations where he discussed how climate change is “wreaking havoc on our planet”.
