Prince Harry’s explosive memoir Spare was crowned the best-selling book of 2023.
Released 12 months ago, the book contains bombshell after bombshell about the Prince’s life. It featured claims his brother Prince William once hit him and featured a story about losing his virginity in a field to an older woman.
The Royal Family were not painted in the greatest light as Harry didn’t hold back. He also revealed how he opposed the-then Prince Charles’s marriage to Camilla, reports The Mirror.
According to The Bookseller, the memoir sold more than 700,000 copies last year. It put it 180,000 sales ahead of The Last Devil to Die by Richard Osman in second place.
Richard Osman had three other books appear in the top 20 – The Bullet That Missed, The Thursday Murder Club, and The Man Who Died Twice. Colleen Hoover, a romance author beloved by BookTok, the readers of TikTok, had three of her books appear in the top 20 as well.

While The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid is set to be a Netflix show. It Ends With Us by Colleen Hoover is currently filming, with Blake Lively starring.
First-time author Britney Spears made the list, despite her book coming out in October. The pop diva released her highly anticipated memoir The Woman In Me last year and it took the thirteenth spot on the list selling 251,460 copies.
