Prince Harry was a naughty child who was “never properly disciplined” according to a royal expert.
Ingrid Seward is an esteemed royal author who has recently released My Mother and I – a biography of King Charles.
In it Seward – who has been dubbed the matriarch of royal reporting due to her close ties with frontline royals over the years – has made a number of revelations including that Prince Harry “badly damaged” his relationship with his grandmother, the late Queen, due to “high-handedness” before and after his wedding to Meghan Markle.
Now in a new interview Seward, who is editor of Majesty magazine, said that Prince Harry had a “naughty” temperament as a child. This is perhaps one explanation for the Duke of Sussex’s current issues such as the breakdown of his relationship with his brother Prince William and his professional gaffes.
She said: “Harry is quite like both his parents in that nothing is ever his fault.
“He was quite naughty as a child but never properly disciplined which perhaps explains a lot,” reports The Telegraph.
Seward says she last saw Prince Harry at a press event at Kensington Palace before he met Meghan on his way to meet other journalists who had gathered there.
She said: “He looked at me and said: ‘I don’t want to go up there.’ And I said: ‘You have to, Harry.’”
“I felt a bit like his mother,” she added.
Prince Harry last week jetted back to the UK for a whirlwind trip to see his father King Charles who has been diagnosed with cancer.
Just 25 hours later, Harry was spotted at Heathrow Airport again ready to board a flight back to his wife, Meghan Markle, and their two children.
Deciding to not travel with her husband, Meghan remained in the US with Prince Archie, four, and Princess Lilibet, two, as Harry made his flying visit alone.
After seeing his dad for just 30 minutes on his visit back to the UK, The Duke of Sussex then flew to Las Vegas for a surprise appearance at the NFL Awards in Las Vegas.
Within 24 hours of landing back at Los Angeles International Airport, Harry appeared on stage in Vegas to present the Walter Payton Man of the Year award to Pittsburgh Steelers footballer Cameron Heyward leaving fans in shock.
