Prince Harry warned 'you'll be eaten alive' as 'new PR strategy considered'

Prince Harry has been warned “you’ll be eaten alive” as he considers a new PR strategy.

The Duke of Sussex and his wife Meghan Markle have hired Kyle Boulia as US director of communications and Charlie Gipson, who has previously worked for Haribo, as his European counterpart for their Archewell Foundation charity.

The pair are expanding their PR team after promoting Miranda Barbot from director of global communications to vice president of programs and media operations.

Mr Gipson and Mr Boulia have reportedly been hired in her place as communications executives and will report to Ashley Hansen, the couple’s head of communications.

Speaking on GB News, Mail On Sunday editor-at-large Charlotte Griffiths said the expansion represented a “pivot” from the Sussexes saying previous requests for comment from her paper had seen “nothing back for years and years”.

But she raised concerns that Mr Gipson had “no tabloid media experience”.

She told GB News: “In some ways it’s a pivot point, but in other ways, why have they appointed this guy who has no tabloid media experience. He’s going to get eaten by the wolves.

“It’s a really surprise appointment and not in a good way.”

Ms Griffiths went on to say that if any mistake was made “you’d hear from them then” adding that she hoped Mr Gipson would prove her wrong.

She added: “I don’t want to get off on the wrong foot with Charlie Gipson but one of my friends who knows him said look I don’t think he’s going to last five minutes.”

Ms Griffiths described the new PR boss as being “more like a marketing manager” adding that he could have been appointed to help launch Meghan’s American Orchard Riviera luxury brand which she said he would be “appropriate” for.

But she added: “But if he’s going to be the point of contact for the whole of the UK’s tabloid press he’s going to get eaten alive. But let’s give him a chance, it’s literally day one.”

The Archewell Foundation has been contacted for comment.
