Prince Harry wants his wife Meghan Markle and their two children, Archie and Lilibet, to accompany him on a return trip to the UK. However, the Duchess of Sussex seems not as enthusiastic about the idea.
Earlier this month, Prince Harry, the Duke of Sussex, visited his father, King Charles, who has been diagnosed with cancer. During an appearance on Good Morning America, Harry revealed that he plans to make more trips back to the UK, saying: “I have got other trips planned that would take me through the UK or back to the UK, so you know, I’ll stop in and see my family as much as I can.”
According to a source, Prince Harry wants his wife and children to join him on these journeys, arguing that it would aid in mending broken relationships with the rest of the Royal Family. Harry may soon be travelling back to London to mark the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games, which is scheduled for celebrating at St Paul’s Cathedral later in May.
Speaking to OK! Magazine, a source said: “He is adamant that he wants Meghan and the children to join him, but I think she may be apprehensive and I think she finds being in the UK very uncomfortable.”
They also revealed that Harry is engaged in “Government-level talks” about returning to the UK for the Invictus celebration.
They said: “I think Meghan knows that she hasn’t been wanted in the past so why would it be any different this time around.”
The insider noted there will be “lots of calls and Zoom meetings planned” to sort things out before Meghan decides to come back to the UK.
The insider thinks the Invictus Games trip might be the beginning of Meghan and Harry rejoining the royal setup. They shared that the Royal Family is happy about this, adding: “Everyone has agreed that now is the right time to come together.”
Meghan didn’t go with Harry on his last trip to the UK.
Writer Omid Scobie said in his book Endgame that the Duchess of Sussex “never felt at home” in the UK. He even claimed that Meghan “never wants to set foot again in England” again.
