Prince Harry urged to 'do Britain a favour' and become US citizen to give UK 'peace'

Now, the Mail’s columnist Amanda Platell has come out and claimed Harry becoming a US citizen would solve all the ongoing problems with the Royal Family.

She wrote: “If he became a U.S. citizen it could solve everything. For it wouldn’t then be up to his loving father to decide as King whether to strip him and Meghan of their titles.

“The couple would no longer be a duke and duchess, just Harry and Meghan Sussex — or whatever surname they chose to use.”

However, the commentator stressed such a scenario was unlikely to happen because Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, won’t “allow it” as they have “no cachet in America without their royal connections”.

She continued: “Of course, it was a flight of fancy. I’m guessing Hell will freeze over before Harry and Meghan allow that to happen. The Sussexes have no cachet in America without their royal connections.

“But just imagine it. Harry the humanitarian, a plain Mr — calm and serene, no longer railing against being a spare without a purpose. And us in Blighty enjoying peace at last from his constant whingeing.

“Please Harry, do us all a favour. Become an American citizen.”

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been criticised recently over their royal references on their newly launched website Sussex.com.

On it, they are described as Prince Harry and Meghan, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex and their royal crest is featured prominently.
