Prince Harry spent night in 'luxury London hotel' after seeing King Charles for first time

Harry is not expected to stay for long as he is due to return to his family back in California.

Yesterday, the prince’s car was spotted at one of LAX’s private terminals, before he boarded an 11-hour flight back to the UK following the latest devastating developments over his father’s health.

The duke flew alone as his wife, Meghan Markle stayed in the US to look after their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.

The couple are set to head to Canada next week for an event to commemorate a year until the Invictus Games in Vancouver and Whistler.

On Monday, King Charles shocked royal watchers worldwide after Buckingham Palace announced he’s been diagnosed with a “form of cancer”.

The Palace did not specify which type of cancer the monarch has, however, aides have confirmed it’s not linked to his prostate operation last month and it is not prostate cancer.

Meanwhile, a source said that whilst Harry “would have gladly accepted” a reunion with his brother Prince William, the Prince of Wales is more reluctant to do so, however a mutual friend could “act as a bridge” between the two estranged siblings.

A source told The Times former Welsh Guards officer Mr Dyer – who was a mentor to the princes after the death of their mother, Princess Diana – has been supporting Harry in recent years.

The source said: “Mark can always be relied upon to talk sense into Harry and will be a stoic under-the-radar support for Harry in what has the propensity to be a stress-inducing time for him.”

Another insider added: “The Duke’s primary reason to travel to the UK is to visit his father. If the opportunity were to arise to see the Prince of Wales then the Duke would have gladly accepted it.”
