Prince Harry sends new message just hours after losing High Court battle

Prince Harry made a sweet comment at the annual Sport Gives Back awards, just hours after it was revealed that he had lost his High Court security battle.

The 39-year-old didn’t appear in-person at the awards ceremony – which took place at Cadogan Hall in London – instead opting to surprise attendees with a virtual appearance.

The Duke of Sussex joined virtually to pay tribute to the Foundation’s community liaison Manager Josh Boggi, who was chosen as winner of the Unconquered award.

Josh lost both legs and his right arm while serving in Afghanistan and went on to develop a passion for cycling during his recovery.

During his appearance, Harry said: “Josh, you are a truly remarkable human. There is no-one in the world who deserves this more; you are the personification of resilience.”

Despite Harry’s kind words, it was Olympic triple jumper – and trustee of the Invictus Games Foundation – Jonathan Edwards who presented Josh with his award on stage.

The room was also filled with other sporting heroes such as Sir Mo Farah, Dame Kelly Holmes and Frank Lampard.

It was revealed earlier today that Harry had lost his High Court challenge against the Government over his security protection in the UK.

He attempted to overturn a ruling that saw his security status downgraded when he stepped down as a senior working royal at the start of 2020 – and moved to the US.

However, on Wednesday, retired High Court judge Sir Peter Lane rejected Harry’s court case.

Sir Peter is said to have found “there has not been unlawfulness in reaching the decision”.

He added that the decision was “not marred by procedural unfairness”.

Harry’s virtual appearance tonight comes just three weeks after his recent visit to the UK to meet his father, a trip which lasted just 25 hours.

Harry and his wife Meghan Markle – who have been married for almost six years – made the decision to step down as “working royals” in January 2020.

The pair now reside in California with their two children, Prince Archie, four, and Princess Lilibet, two.

The couple have been tipped to return to the UK later this year for the tenth anniversary of the Invictus Games.
