Prince Harry reveals what Prince Archie wants to be when he grows in moving Netflix clip

Prince Harry has opened up on his son Prince Archie during his new Netflix docu-series, Heart of Invictus.

He spoke about what his eldest child wants to be when he grows up, as well as teaching the four-year-old an important life lesson.

The Duke of Sussex said: “When I talk to my son Archie about what he wants to be when he grows up, some days it’s an astronaut, some days it’s a pilot.

“But what I remind him is no matter what you want to be when you grow up it’s your character that matters most.

“And nothing would make his mum and me prouder than to see him have the character of what we see before us today – you.”

Harry made those comments in a speech at the Games in The Hague last April, which is shown in the new five-part series.

Archie’s suggestion of becoming a pilot may have been influenced by his father’s own career, as Harry served as a pilot during his 10 years in the British Army, having passed his training to become an Army Air Corps.

He later qualified as an Apache helicopter commander in 2013 after three years of training.

While on a five-month tour in Afghanistan, Harry served as a co-pilot gunner where he shared flight duties and took control of the weapons of the two-man Apache.

He detailed much of this in his memoir Spare, where he controversially revealed how many people he had killed during his two tours of Afghanistan.

In the docu-series, which was released on Netflix today, Harry also says that he wouldn’t have been able to serve in the army while having children waiting at home.

Chatting to his friends and former Invictus competitors JJ Chalmers and David Wiseman, the royal said: “I’ve always had myself down as being the dad that I could never be serving while having kids.

“And you both did, right? It’s never the individual signing up – it’s the whole family signing up.”
