Prince Harry has appeared in a new video this afternoon promoting the 2024 WellChild awards. It was released just hours after he lost his High Court challenge against the Home Office over a decision to change the level of his personal security when he visits the UK. The duke is to seek to appeal against the ruling, his lawyers have announced.
In the new clip, the Duke of Sussex encourages people to nominate inspirational children and young people with complex health needs and the outstanding people who support and care for them for the 2024 WellChild Awards.
Harry said: “The WellChild awards is our chance to celebrate the extraordinary strength and spirit of young people with complex medical conditions from across the United Kingdom.
“It allows us to shine a spotlight on the resilience and positivity that they demonstrate every single day, and recognise the incredible support from the families, friends, and the professionals around them.”
Harry has been patron of the charity for over 15 years. It is a national children’s charity making it possible for children and young people with serious and complex health needs to be cared for at home.
