Prince Harry plans to call King Charles at Christmas after order to 'repair damage'

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle “need to repair the damage” and try to mend the wound created within the Royal Family for the sake of their business, it has been claimed.

Royal commentator Kinsey Schofield took a look at the claim the Duke of Sussex is planning to ring his father King Charles on Christmas Day.

This call would be part of a “reconciliation” strategy the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are said to be embracing for the new year, after months of blistering allegations and criticism aimed at the House of Windsor.

The commentator claimed Meghan and Harry were advised to try and patch things up with the royals to boost their public image and commercial deals.

She told GB News host Mark Dolan: “Meghan’s team doesn’t appear to know what to do at this point. The consensus is that they need to repair the damage within the Royal Family.

“24 hours later, Page Six releasing this story that Harry intends to call the King at Christmas for some sort of reconciliation, he plans to also talk to Meghan and the kids.

“So the idea that they are reporting brands don’t want to work with them, the only way to clear the air is to reconcile with the Royal Family. Then Prince Harry intends to call the King to reconcile at Christmas. That’s the suspicious timing.”

Earlier this month, US publication Page Six reported a source described as “well placed” saying “Harry and Meghan’s new strategy is reconciliation”.

The report added the Duke, as he is approaching his 40th birthday, is “aware” of the “shifting sands of time”.

This comes after the Express reported a source claiming parties linked to the Sussexes held crisis talks following a string of failed projects.

They alleged: “There’s a general feeling that there has been a vendetta waged against them. There have been talks held with high profile brands that didn’t lead to anything but should have done. Those brands then actively courted other members of the family.”

While Prince Harry is believed to have not talked to his brother Prince William in more than a year, the Duke called his father in November to mark his 75th birthday.

Meghan also reportedly spoke to the monarch. King Charles was also treated to a pre-recorded video of the Sussexes’ children Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet singing “Happy Birthday” for him.

The Telegraph wrote the conversation between the breakaway royals and the sovereign was “warm” and marked a “notable shift in tone” between the father and son.
