Prince Harry ‘distrusts’ Prince William’s growing bond with Queen Camilla

While King Charles undergoes treatment and recuperation from his cancer diagnosis, both Queen Camilla and Prince William have been forced to step up and represent the monarch at a string of royal engagements – sometimes attending together.

However, one royal expert thinks this budding relationship will not be sitting well with California-based Prince Harry.

Speaking to The Mirror, royal expert and author, Tom Quinn said: “He really distrusts that William actually gets on rather well now with Camilla – Harry will see this as a betrayal. He was shocked when William realised that Camilla, far from being the monster they thought her when they were children, is actually a rather nice woman.”

In his bombshell memoir, Spare, released in January 2023, Prince Harry came down hard on his stepmother, Camilla.

Harry claims in the book, that along with Prince William, they both objected to their father’s second marriage and were initially left concerned that she would be a “wicked stepmother”.

Speaking of relationships between Royal Family members in the present day, royal expert, Mr Quinn added: “For Harry, Camilla was the wicked stepmother back then, and she still is.”

He said: “It’s all very sad, but shows that the huge geographical divide between the brothers – Harry in America, William in London – has become a physical manifestation of their emotional separation.”

Prince William, 41, shared a sweet moment with Queen Camilla at the annual Commonwealth Day Service in March at Westminster Abbey.

Not too long after arriving, William was captured having a moment with his stepmother, and captured kissing Camilla on both cheeks to greet her.

The pair then smiled as they stood alongside each other, despite the King not being in attendance. To mark the event of the celebration of the Commonwealth nations across the world, King Charles sent a video message addressing the audience and pledging to continue to serve the Commonwealth “to the best of my ability”.

After a concerning few weeks as King Charles battles his cancer diagnosis and the recent news of Princess Kate’s cancer diagnosis broke, William and Camilla are “bound” to be in “much closer contact”, according to royal expert Jennie Bond.

The former BBC royal correspondent, told OK! Magazine: “Recent events have obviously brought William and Camilla much closer. They have been left, almost literally, nursing the Crown while the King and the Princess recover.”

She added: “Apart from the business side of things, I’m sure they will have been an emotional help to one another as well.”

Prince William was not present at St George’s Chapel to mark Easter Sunday service, as he was with his wife, Princess Kate, and their three children, who are currently on their school Easter holiday break.

Queen Camilla stood firmly by the King’s side as he attended the service, and followed a walkabout in Windsor with Charles as he was greeted by well-wishers, shaking hands with crowds.
