Prince Harry blasted over receiving 'special treatment' amid US visa woes

Prince Harry has been blasted for the ongoing drama surrounding his American visa.

The US ambassador to the UK Jane Hartley has claimed that the Duke of Sussex will “not be deported” under a Biden administration.

He permanently moved to Montecito, California, in 2020 after he and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, stepped down as senior royals.

The Prince’s US visa application is under review by a judge after he admitted to previous drug use in his memoir Spare. Drug use can be grounds to deny a visa in the United States.

A lawsuit was launched by think tank The Heritage Foundation to investigate whether Harry lied on the application and demanded his visa documents be made public.

When asked about the current battle between the US courts and Prince Harry, Ambassador Hartley said it’s “not going to happen in the Biden administration”.

The Heritage Foundation said Hartley’s remarks “dramatically enhance the already compelling public interest in disclosure”.

But Prince Harry is a “protected species” under Joe Biden when it comes to his US residency, the former editor of The Sun Kelvin MacKenzie has claimed.

Speaking on GB News, MacKenzie criticised Hartley for shielding the Prince but said he was “torn” on the debate about his US residency.

MacKenzie said: “If he’s kicked out of the United States, he has to come back here. I don’t want him back here! The psychodrama is bad enough with him being 6,000 miles away.

“What would it be like if he was wandering around Windsor Great Park every day and bringing his Mrs with him? All I could see is massive aggro.”

Speaking to host Patrick Christys, MacKenzie argued that the battle over his residency is now a “political dispute” between Joe Biden and Donald Trump, who have opposing stances on his visa.

MacKenzie explained: “Biden is saying if Trump’s in favour of kicking him out, I’m in favour of keeping him, and therefore he’s got caught up in some rather ridiculous political drama.

“I don’t want him back here. He lied on his visa because there was no money involved. He then writes a book and says, ‘If you throw in I took drugs, then the value of my book goes up’. All it does is shows what a terrible piece of work he is. Please don’t bring him back here.”

When asked if Prince Harry is receiving “special treatment” over his visa application, MacKenzie said: “It is special treatment, I totally agree. You can get very aggravated about it. And it’s a very odd world.

“But once you get into American politics, he is a protected species as far as the Democrats are concerned.”
