Prince Harry and Prince William's fiery showdown sparked devastating 'realisation'

Prince Harry has pinpointed the exact moment that something “shifted” in his relationship with his older brother Prince William, as the feud between them rumbles on.

The year after he relocated with his young family to California, Harry returned to Windsor for the funeral of his grandfather Prince Philip, where he reportedly got into a heated argument with William and then-Prince Charles.

The event came not long after Harry and Meghan Markle’s tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey, and while many hoped it would be a chance for the Duke of Sussex to reconcile with this family, this sadly not did not come to pass.

In his autobiography Spare, he recalled being “stopped cold” during the confrontation with William and having a startling realisation about his brother.

He explains: “All at once something shifted inside of me. I looked at Willy, really looked at him, maybe for the first time since we were boys. I took it all in: his familiar scowl, which had always been his default in dealings with me; his alarming baldness, more advanced than my own; his famous resemblance to Mummy, which was fading with time.

“With age. In some ways, he was my mirror, in some ways he was my opposite. My beloved brother, my arch nemesis, how had that happened?”

During their fight Charles begged his sons to stop, pleading to them: “Please, boys – don’t make my final years a misery.”

On the day of the funeral, Harry claimed that William forced him to look him in the eyes so he could tell him he loved him and just wanted him to be happy, the Mirror reports.

Many of the new revelations centre around September 8 2022, the day Queen Elizabeth died, with Mr Scobie claiming that the Sussexes were kept in the dark about her condition.

A royal source hit back, saying: “It appears no matter what happens behind closed doors, even in a time of such pain and grief, that where the Royal Family are concerned it will one day emerge.

“Nothing is off limits with William and Kate appearing to be this author’s number one target. It only takes a few months for the knives to come out again and the wounds to be opened up.”
