Prince Harry and Meghan's photos take 'pride of place' in King Charles's home despite rift

A recent visitor said Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s photos still take “pride of place” alongside cherished family snaps in King Charles and Queen Camilla’s London home, Clarence House, reports The Daily Express US.

Since stepping down from their working royal roles in March 2020, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex haven’t been on the best of terms with Charles III.

The pair’s bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey in March 2021 severely rocked the boat, and matters were worsened after they released a Netflix docu-series.

Harry’s tell-all memoir and promotional interviews also soured relations further, as the royal made a number of damning revelations against senior royals, including Prince William and Queen Camilla.

However, His Majesty has repeatedly attempted to reconcile the relations with his younger son and his wife, such as this month’s heart-warming, Father’s Day tribute photo of him, Prince William and Prince Harry fishing in Scotland when they were teenagers.

The visitor said: “Under the circumstances, you might think that the pictures would be moved, but they’ve still got pride of place.”

Speaking to the Telegraph, they added: “To all outward appearances, they still seem to be a very happy family.”

Last month, keen eyes also glimpsed a touching picture of the two princes in full military uniform when the King held an audience at Buckingham Palace.

Despite the publicly-noted tension that arose between them after Harry departed from royal duty, the Prince of Wales also admitted that he keeps reminders of his younger brother close to hand.

In a video of the Prince and Princess of Wales’ Kensington Palace home released for the Coronation in May, images of William and Harry can be seen on display.

The couple’s daughter Princess Charlotte runs through the room to join her youngest brother Prince Louis to look outside in the video, passing a grand piano adorned with family photos.

One of which is a black and white image of the two princes with their late mother, Diana, where William leans on his mother’s left shoulder as Harry rests his arms and head on her right shoulder.

The snap featured in the family’s Christmas Card in 1995, and was the second image shown of just Diana and her sons following her separation from Charles in 1992.
