Prince Harry and Meghan told to apologise to King ahead of Coronation in brutal slap down

In spite of the rift Harry and Meghan revealed in a statement that they have been invited to the Coronation, with speculation mounting as to whether they will attend.

Writing for Fox News Lee Cohen accused the couple of making “vicious” attacks against the royal and claimed it is “preposterous” that Harry and Meghan should receive an apology.

He added: “The only claim for apology should come from the King, the Queen Consort, and Kate and William.

“Harry and Meghan have sought to ruin, but they have failed, and the King and his successors remain popular because they carry on dutifully and never stoop to the Sussexes’ level.”

Royal biographer Angela Levin claimed that Meghan will not fly back to the UK in May as it would be “horrendously embarrassing” for her.

She added that while it is “quite easy” for the Duchess to criticise the royals while living miles away in California, being with them in Westminster Abbey is another matter.

Ms Levin said: “I don’t think that she’s got the strength and the courage to come. I think it’s quite easy to spur nastiness when you’re thousands of miles away, it’s quite another when you’re absolutely there and you get cold looks and nobody wants to speak to you, apart from discussing the weather.

“She’s quite gauche when it comes to being with royals and because she doesn’t feel she’s number one she’s awkward about it.

“And, of course, she hasn’t had enough experience to feel at ease and confidence because she zoomed off to Canada too soon.”

However, there may be another reason for Meghan’s possible no-show as the Coronation also falls on the same date as their son Archie’s fourth birthday.

Bookies have noted a shift in betting regarding the Sussexes coming to London, with Coral slashing its odds from 4/5 to 1/3 on their attending the Coronation.

Spokesman John Hill said: “There has been a big shift in our betting in the last 24 hours on Prince Harry and Meghan Markle attending King Charles III’s Coronation.

“We now make the couple as short as 1/3 to attend. Those odds indicate there is a 75 percent chance that they will take their seats at Westminster Abbey.”

Jake Ashton wrote on the Online Betting Guide (OLBG’s) website: “The latest betting odds say that there’s an 83 percent chance of Prince Harry attending with the odds flipping massively from back in January where it was odds on that Harry wouldn’t attend.

“It seemed for a long time that Prince Harry would definitely not be attending the Coronation of his father but the past few weeks has seen the odds change with it looking like Harry and Meghan will attend.”
