Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's secret luxury getaway 'without the children'

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have jetted off on a secret luxury getaway just days after their appearance in New York City.

The couple were spotted walking hand-in-hand as they looked to be enjoying some quality down-time.

Harry and Meghan headed off to the tiny island of Canouan following a busy week of promoting mental health projects in the Big Apple.

The picture, which was taken by a passer-by, shows the couple leaving a gourmet food store, which is located in the Sandy Lane Yacht Club and Marina in Glossy Bay.

Meghan looked chic in a simple ivory maxi-dress along with a ribboned Panama hat, while Harry opted for casual navy shorts and a white t-shirt.

According to the onlooker, the couple were “affectionate” with one another, as the pair holidayed without their two children, four-year-old Prince Archie and two-year-old Princess Lilibet.

The source told DailyMail.com: “They looked happy. As Harry walked out of the shop, he slightly bumped into one of the barrels [outside] and they both giggled and Meghan reached for his hand.

“They just looked very happy to be having a holiday together.”

The couple had just been shopping in Faye, which is an upmarket grocery shop that offers an “exclusive selection of fresh seasonal organic products from vegetables to cheeses, sweets, seafood and exclusive meat cuts”.

At just three miles wide, the island is known as the place where “billionaires go to escape millionaires”.

It boasts gorgeous sandy beaches, as well as a handful of upscale resorts.

Although it is unclear where the couple are staying, one of the resorts available is the Soho Beach House Canouan.

Meghan is known to have an association with Soho House properties and is friends with Markus Anderson, who is the lifestyle club chain’s Chief Membership Officer.
