Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's power 'seeping away every day' as A-Listers desert couple

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s power is “seeping away” as the royal couple appear to be alienated by their celebrity friends in favour of them forming bonds with working royals.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex appear to have been left behind by their A-list pals who have reached out to Prince William and Princess Kate to “let them they know they have their support amid the feud”, a source told Closer magazine.

Royal commentator Louise Roberts claimed the Sussexes are losing their power.

She told Sky News Australia: “They were really riding on a wave of self-righteousness when they arrived in Los Angeles and they figured that all their celebrity friends would buffer them and continue to pay homage to them.

“But that fact is if you’ve got access to the legitimate top tier working royals, why would you fraternise with a couple in exile?

“Their power seems to seep away day by day.”

It comes as Meghan and Harry have been warned they will struggle to get “big invitations” after interest in them rapidly decreases.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who stepped down from royal duties in March 2020, have faced a huge decline in popularity.

Royal author Nicholas Owen has claimed the royal couple is set to follow in the footsteps of Edward VIII and Wallis Simpson.

He told Sky News Australia: “There was a lot of interest in them at the beginning of course.

“The way they burst on the scene with the famous interview with Oprah Winfrey but once the initial excitement dies down.

“They’re going to find invitation a little bit more difficult to get frankly.

“A bit of a sad thing. It’s a terrible reminder of times past when Edward VIII left the throne back in the 1930s because he married an American divorcee.

“Gradually, the big invitations petered out and they were left rather isolated and I’m afraid the same thing seems to be happening again.”
