Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's major source of 'tension' that's unlikely to ever change

There is a “major area of tension” in Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s marriage, which has been explained ahead of the Duke’s reported visit to the UK, according to a royal expert.

The problematic topic has been deemed “unlikely to change” and surrounds claims Meghan never wants to return to the United Kingdom again.

The couple officially stepped back from their roles as senior working royals in 2020 when they decided they would be stepping down and moving overseas to become financially independent.

Speaking to The Mirror, royal expert and author, Tom Quinn said: “Meghan was pretty adamant when she said she will never return to the UK so it’s very unlikely she will accompany Harry although he will want her to come with him for moral support – this is one of the major areas of tension between the couple.”

The Duke of Sussex is thought to be visiting the UK to attend the Invictus Games 10th anniversary service at St Paul’s Cathedral in May.

Prince Harry, 39, is also thought to be speaking at the special service on May 8, and questions will remain about whether the Duke will see any of his family during the visit to London.

According to an expert, as stated in The Mirror, Harry will want Meghan to accompany him on his trips for “moral support”, but it is believed to be “unlikely” that the mother-of-two will do so.

Relations between the Sussexes and the rest of the royal family have deteriorated since the couple decided to relocate first to Canada and then Montecito in LA, where they now live with their two children, Prince Archie, and Princess Lilibet.

Author, Omid Scobie, who penned the controversial books ‘Finding Freedom’, in 2020 and ‘Endgame’ in 2023, stated in his book that Meghan “never felt at home” in the UK, revealing the American actor turned royal “never wants to set foot again in England”.

The Duchess of Sussex has rarely returned back to the UK since moving back to America. Back in 2022, Meghan returned for the late Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral at Westminster Abbey.

The Duchess of Sussex made the quick pit stop in London last September as she travelled to be reunited with her husband, Prince Harry, at the Invictus Games 2023 which were held in Dusseldorf, Germany.

Prince Harry is also said to be keen to return to the UK again following his father’s cancer diagnosis and the recent announcement of his sister-in-law Princess Kate who was also revealed to have cancer in a shocking diagnosis earlier this year.

Princess Kate spoke of an “incredibly tough couple of months” during a heart-wrenching video as she revealed she is undergoing preventative therapy for her illness.

The youngest son of King Charles made a quick return to see his father at Clarence House for a very brief visit, following his diagnosis and then returned to America in less than 25 hours.
