Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's 'endgame' revealed after crushing defeat

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s desired “endgame” has been revealed by a royal expert, amid the Duke of Sussex’s recent crushing defeat in court.

It emerged on Wednesday that Harry, 39, had lost his legal challenge against the Home Office over his right to be granted automatic police protection.

Speaking on TalkTV, US-based journalist and royal commentator Kinsey Schofield spoke of what it is that Harry and Meghan are looking for – particularly when it comes to the Duke of Sussex’s concern over security when visiting the UK.

Ms Schofield said: “I think his endgame is to be treated, what he would say, fairly. Just look at his book title Spare, I think he wants the same treatment that other members of his family receive and I think that’s what I think he’s fighting for.”

Harry has previously voiced his concern over the security he receives in the UK, even stating his fears for his family – his wife and their two children – if they were to travel to the UK alongside him.

Now it has been said that Harry’s team is set to appeal against the latest ruling. Ms Schofield added: “He’s said throughout his battle that he also believes he’s in more jeopardy than his mother was. So I do think that he is legitimately fearful for his family.”

In yesterday’s ruling, retired High Court judge Sir Peter Lane rejected Harry’s case and concluded Ravec’s approach was not irrational nor procedurally unfair.

Harry was, however, not present in the UK for yesterday’s ruling but has since made a virtual appearance at an event in London. The 39-year-old made a virtual appearance at the Sport Gives Back Awards on Wednesday evening.

He joined online to pay tribute to the Foundation’s community liaison Manager Josh Boggi, who was chosen as winner of the Unconquered award.

Harry and Meghan have been tipped to return to the UK later this year, to mark the tenth anniversary of the Invictus Games.

They could also be set to be joined by their two children, Prince Archie, four, and two-year-old Princess Lilibet – who have both spent very little time in the UK and their royal family members, including their grandad King Charles and cousins Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.

The visit would also be Meghan’s first trip to the UK since 2022.
