Prince Harry and Meghan Markle tipped for 'Hollywood comeback' despite spate of setbacks

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are struggling to get established in Hollywood because of their lack of planning, a royal insider has claimed.

And the couple seem to be going through some “serious growing pains,” according to senior media strategist Joe Quenqua.

The insider told People: “There wasn’t necessarily a five-year plan.”

But even without a plan, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex found some success as they managed to release a record breaking Netflix show, sign a podcast deal with Spotify and publish Harry’s memoir Spare.

However, by June 2023, their podcast deal crumbled as Spotify axed Archetypes before its second season.

And staff from Archewell echoed the sentiment that the pair didn’t have much of a plan, according to the Wall Street Journal.

A source said the podcast “often lacked direction.”

They added the couple weren’t prepared for the workload necessary to finish all their entertainment projects.

But another source close to the Archetypes podcast said that the couple aren’t fully to blame and claimed Spotify didn’t give them much guidance at all.

They said: “They were given no formal lay of the land to kick things off, so they were already on unsteady footing even before the ink was dry.”

Some experts suggested that the couple are being held to a higher standard.

A source said: “Very few other production companies are measured by what’s actually hit the airwaves.”

The source, who is allegedly close to the couple, does not think that this is the end for Harry and Meghan’s Hollywood takeover. They claimed that there are “plenty of things that are in different phases”.

An industry expert said: “Has their final chapter been written? Absolutely not. Hollywood loves a comeback.”
