Prince Harry and Meghan Markle heard about King Charles's illness 'on the news'

Prince Harry may have found out about his father King Charles’s condition via the media according to new reports. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are believed to have been informed about the condition via a private message by Buckingham Palace.

But due to the time difference between the UK and the US where the Sussexes live it could be that they heard the announcement on the news rather than privately, reports The Telegraph.

The public announcement was made at 3.25pm UK time which is 7.25am in California. It is for this reason that the Duke could have missed any message relayed by the Palace.

Express.co.uk has also approached the Palace and the Sussexes for comment. Both the Palace and a spokesman for the Sussexes declined to comment to The Telegraph.

But the King is “fine” after his diagnosis of an enlarged prostate according to his wife Queen Camilla.

Camilla was on a solo visit to Aberdeen Art Gallery yesterday to open its new Safe Space to help people if they suspect someone is living with domestic abuse.

Asked about the King she replied: “He’s fine, thank you very much. Looking forward to getting back to work.”

King Charles, 75, is at his private home Birkhall in Aberdeenshire whilst he prepares for a corrective procedure for the condition.

He is said to have started experiencing symptoms on his Christmas break. Tell tale signs of the condition can include finding it difficult to start urinating, straining to go, a weak flow, needing to go frequently in the night and urinary incontinence.

The monarch will be admitted to hospital next week.
