Prince Harry and Meghan Markle complained about way they were treated at Queen's funeral

Mr Johnson wrote in New York Daily News: “Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s friends in London are whispering that the former royals have been complaining they were snubbed and mistreated at Queen Elizabeth’s funeral.

“They both whined that the family wasn’t as welcoming as they should have been.”

Speaking out in the week following the funeral, Mr Johnson suggested that Harry was rewriting his book – which was released back in January – to include “the palace intrigue around their trip to England for the funeral of his grandmother.”

After the funeral took place, Mr Johnson wrote: “Insiders say that Penguin Random House paid more than $15million for his story and they want it to contain scandalous, headline-grabbing news.”

Prior to the release of Spare, he added: “Members of the Royal Family hope that Harry will not attack his family as insensitive racists the way Meghan did during the Oprah interview.”

Concluding, he added: “Insiders fear the book could bury any reconciliation between Harry and Meghan, and the Royal Family.”

Harry’s highly-anticipated book, which was originally going to be released in 2022, was released on January 10, 2023.

Speaking prior to its release, the columnist suggested that the publication date has been pushed back for Harry to make additional changes, as well as adding the new chapter.

Two days after the late Queen’s death, Meghan and Harry joined William and Kate on a surprise walkabout in Windsor.

It has been reported that Meghan, in particular, found this “very difficult” – with being away from her two children posing one of the reasons for this.

According to his book titled Our King: Charles III, by royal reporter Robert Jobson wrote: “That’s the longest they had ever been away from the kids, and then on top of it, knowing what’s being said out there – it was very difficult…”
