Her relationship with Meghan and Harry has been a subject of some speculation in recent years after the popstar made critical comments about the Duchess’ wedding dress.
Asked about Meghan’s dress, Katy told Access Hollywood: “I would’ve done one more fitting.”
She added: “Kate won. Kate won. I’m sorry, I’m never not going to tell the truth. One more fitting, but I love you.”
Back in May, a royal source told the Daily Star that Meghan has held a “grudge” on Katy ever since she made these comments.
The source said: “Meghan is keenly aware of a comment that Katy Perry made in 2018 about her wedding dress and is notorious for holding a grudge.
“While the comment wasn’t meant to be hurtful, Meghan felt under siege at that time and was overwhelmed by arguments with staff, the Duchess of Cambridge, and Thomas Markle.”
Harry also has links with Katy going back years.
In 2012, the singer was asked by Graham Norton whether Harry had asked for her to join the guest list for the late Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.
Katy replied: “Prince Harry? He’s a hot ginger isn’t he.”
Comedian Ross Noble joked that Harry and Katy could get together, to which the popstar said: “I’d be open to that.”
The Duke of Sussex is also thought to be good friends with Katy’s fiancé, Orlando Bloom.
