Prince Harry and Meghan blow speculation 'wide open' that a shock move is on horizon

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have appeared to blow speculation “wide open” that they have a new deal on the horizon, it has been claimed.

After speculation that the couple could be set to sign with Paramount after their surprise appearance at the Jamaican Bob Marley film premiere earlier this year, Meghan and Harry’s sights could be set on a new deal with Disney.

Disney-owned platform Hulu released a new Prince Harry documentary, which is titled ‘Prince Harry’s Mission: Life, Family and the Invictus Games’, on February 25.

The documentary appears to make various digs directed at certain members of the Royal Family, with speculation now spiralling that the couple could be set to sign a deal with Disney.

Lynn Carratt from Press Box PR told the Mirror that the latest speculation has “caused controversy”, especially as Hulu is “one of Netflix’s rivals”.

She added: “It’s worth noting that Hulu is only available for streaming in the USA and not the UK and it’s likely that the documentary was a pre-requisite of the ABC interview he did with Good Morning America during The Invictus Games One Year to Event and Harry has signed a release to allow them to put this documentary together.

“After all it is good PR for the Invictus Games.

“It’s also worth mentioning that Netflix previously streamed Prince Harry’s Heart of Invictus documentary last year, which did not perform well in terms of streaming figures … so it is likely that Netflix had the first refusal on the documentary and they’ve passed on. As they are currently focusing on the film Meet Me at the Lake, that Harry and Meghan are producing.”

Concluding her analysis, Lynn added: “However, this does now blow the speculation wide open that when their $80 million contract with Netflix ends in early 2025, will they be planning a move to Disney who own Hulu?”

The couple signed a five-year contract with Netflix in 2020, with the deal set to come to an end next year. It remains unknown if the couple and Netflix will agree to extend the contract.
