Prince Harry already out of the country as latest UK visit lasts just 23 hours

Prince Harry has arrived in Germany after a very short visit to the UK, which lasted just 23 hours.

The Duke of Sussex has been spotted arriving in Germany just hours before he opens the Invictus Games in Dusseldorf tomorrow, September 9.

The Invictus Games, which have recently been dubbed Harry’s “best work” by a number of experts, will take place at Merkur Spiel Arena from Saturday until September 16.

Harry arrived in London on Thursday to attend the WellChild Awards last night, before being spotted in Windsor to honour his late grandmother on the first anniversary of her death earlier today.

The late Queen died at Balmoral on September 8 last year, with her death marking the start of King Charles III’s reign.

It was unknown how long Harry would remain in the UK, but was expected to be a short visit with his presence required in Germany for the Games.

Harry flew to the UK solo, without his wife Meghan Markle, with the Duchess expected to join Harry in Germany on Monday, September 11.

Despite the mystery over the removal of Meghan’s name on the Games schedule, she is still expected to support her husband next week.

It remains unknown whether the couple’s two children, Archie and Lilibet, will join their mother on the visit to Germany.

Before catching his flight to Germany, Harry paid a surprise visit to Windsor Castle in order to pay his respects to his late grandmother.

The Duke of Sussex was pictured leaving the chapel where Queen Elizabeth II is laid to rest on Friday.

The King George VI Memorial Chapel, which is situated within the walls of St George’s Chapel, is Queen Elizabeth II’s final resting place.

On Thursday night, Harry appeared in high spirits at the WellChild Awards, a charity that he has been a patron of for 15 years.

It was the first time he had been seen in the UK since his high-profile legal case at the High Court against Mirror Group Newspapers earlier in the year.

Harry and Meghan were due to attend the Awards last September, but the event fell on the same day that the late Queen died.

The couple cancelled their appearance, with Harry instead making his way to Balmoral.
