Prince George wants to ‘appear unpretentious’ in 10th birthday portrait, expert claims

The second in line to the British throne, Prince George, is celebrating his 10th birthday tomorrow.

Prince George of Wales was born on July 22, 2013, in St Mary’s Hospital in Paddington a decade ago to Princess Kate and Prince William.

A new photograph of the Prince has just been released to commemorate his 10th birthday, taken by Millie Pilkington in Windsor earlier this month.

Judi James, a body language expert spoke exclusively to Express.co.uk to analyse Prince George’s special photograph, which shows the 10-year-old perched on a staircase outdoors.

She claimed: “George seems to have suddenly and emphatically stepped out of his childhood in this stunning birthday photo.

“His cheeky grin has gone, as has his more playful, childlike body language and instead we are seeing a young man looking relaxed and confident in a pose reminiscent of his father.”

Prince George sat upright on concrete steps for the picture, with a wide-toothed grin and his left elbow resting on his left knee.

The Prince also grabbed his right hand with his left one, in what looked to be a very natural pose.

Judi continued: “George displays an even eye gaze here and a symmetric, relaxed, natural-looking smile.

“His pose on the steps might have been awkward but his long limbs make it look natural and authentic.

“He seems to be looking at the world in a calm and relaxed state and he looks very smart for his age here.

“There’s not an ounce of awkwardness as he poses for this portrait, just good humour and what looks like a desire to appear as unpretentious and as natural as possible.”

Prince George will be King after his father, the current Prince of Wales, who is first in line to the throne after King Charles.
