Prince George and Princess Charlotte set to 'overlap' with Kate's school choice

Prince William and Princess Kate have selected a boarding school for oldest child and future King Prince George.

Both Prince William and Prince Harry attended Eton College, while Princess Kate attended Marlborough College.

And Kate’s alma mater won the final vote, with an insider telling Life&Style: “Kate’s always wanted them to have more of a normal upbringing than William did.”

There had been numerous conversations about the children’s schooling, but it has been suggested the debate is settled.

A source says: “The family have made a choice.

“They’ve decided that he and sister Charlotte will attend boarding school together. They’ll both be students at Marlborough.

“This way, George and Charlotte will have a few years where they’ll overlap at the same school.”

George, 10, is in the fifth grade and recently took his placement tests, which play a role in his acceptance to boarding school with the “rigorous process” compared to that of “getting into Oxford.”

James Mitchell, Think Tutors founder, explains the process, saying it’s made-up of exams and interviews. The ISEB exam comes first, and if successful, the student advances to a second-stage test, which is more complex.

He said: “You may have a reverse Tetris-style game with words and sentences moving up the page and you have to basically correct spelling and grammar and it gets faster and faster until you can’t do it anymore.”
