Prince Archie's secret godparent revealed – with Harry accused of 'copying' William

Prince Archie’s secret godparent has been revealed – and Prince Harry has been accused of ‘copying’ Prince William.

While it’s never been officially announced, Archie’s godparents were believed to be three people very close to the Duke of Sussex, while Princess Lilibet’s had stronger connections to Meghan Markle.

It’s been widely reported that Harry and William’s childhood nanny Alexandra Pettifer, better known as Tiggy Legge-Bourke, was chosen.

The others are Harry’s close pal Charlie van Straubenzee, who reportedly chose the prince to be his best man, and Mark Dyer, a royal aide and trusted protector who is seen as the Harry’s ‘second dad’.

However, it’s now being reported that Archie has a fourth godparent – Harry’s lifelong friend Hugh Grosvenor, the Duke of Westminster.

Grosvenor is the King’s godson and had an official role in Charles’s procession at his coronation last May.

He inherited 140,000 acres of land in Oxfordshire, Cheshire, Lancashire and Scotland, as well as 300 acres in Mayfair and Belgravia in central London.

Grosvenor is believed to be the only godparent chosen by both brothers, according to The Times, as he was also chosen by William for Prince George.

While it wasn’t an issue at the time, it has now thrown up a huge problem due to Harry and William’s rift.

It’s understood that neither Archie or his parents will attend Grosvenor’s wedding to Olivia Henson at Chester Cathedral on June 7.

Despite being lifelong friends, Harry and Meghan will be notably absent after being excluded to avoid a royal clash.

The King and Queen and the Prince and Princess of Wales are on the invitation list, with William in the running to be best man and George also expected to attend.

This comes after Omid Scobie’s new book Endgame, which is heavily critical of the Wales’ and The Firm, was released this week.

Archie’s other godparents comprise of the Princes’ childhood nanny Tiggy, who was Charles’ personal assistant from 1993 to 1999, but Harry admitted in memoir Spare that his mother was not a fan of hers.

Writing in Spare, Harry claimed Princess Diana saw Tiggy as a rival and suspected she was being groomed to be her replacement.

Harry also revealed that Tiggy was one of the loved ones who chastised him for doing the bombshell Oprah Winfrey interview in 2021.

The other godparents are believed to be Harry’s close pal Charlie van Straubenzee, who reportedly chose Harry to be best man at his wedding to Daisy Jenks in August 2018.

Archie’s final godparent is supposedly Mark Dyer, a royal aide who Harry looked up to as a mentor and respected him for being “an extreme ginger and owning it”.
