'Possible' Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will return to the UK permanently, expert says

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s permanent return to the UK is “possible”, claims one royal expert.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have lived in the US for the past four years, with no immediate signs that the pair would ever return back to the UK – or royal life.

However, one expert believes a royal return could be on the cards for both Harry and Meghan.

Speaking to the New York Post, former royal butler Grant Harrold said: “It’s difficult to say given everything that has gone on and the trust that has been broken down whether they could return as full-time royals, but I’ve always said if Harry did return to the UK, it is possible.”

With this being said, Mr Harrold said that tense relations with Prince William would need to be “sorted out” prior to any formal decisions.

Continuing to state that he doesn’t believe it would impossible, especially as the two brothers’ were so “close” prior to the breakdown in their relationship.

Mr Harrold, who worked as the now-King Charles’s butler between 2004 and 2011, said: “I saw how close William and Harry were.

“I don’t think that’s a relationship that is too far gone to be healed or fixed.”

Harry and Meghan stepped down as working royals at the start of 2020, before moving to the US with their now-four-year-old son, Prince Archie. The couple welcomed their second child, a daughter named Lilibet, in June 2021.

Although Harry has made many trips to the UK ever since, Meghan’s have been few and far between. The Duchess of Sussex has not returned to the UK since 2022 – their visit which was extended due to the death of the late Queen.
