POLL: Should Princess Kate work as hard as Princess Anne?

Princess Kate’s work ethic has come under fire after it was revealed she only undertook 128 engagements last year – far fewer than other senior working royals.

Princess Anne retained her title as the hardest-working royal, undertaking 457 engagements in 2023, according to a study of the Court Circular conducted by The Telegraph.

King Charles followed closely behind, carrying out 425 engagements followed by Prince Edward with 297 and Queen Camilla with 233.

The Duchess of Edinburgh came in fifth with 219 engagements, ahead of Prince William and the Duke of Gloucester who tied with 172 duties.

The Princess of Wales ranked in eighth place behind other older senior members of the Firm.

Whereas Kate’s commitment has been questioned with X users reacting to her performance last year. One user wrote: “128 engagements from the Princess of Wales. What. A. Joke. She should be ashamed.”

They added: “172 from William is also unacceptable. Should expect at least 250 from the heir to the throne. These are their prime years, they’re wasting them.”

The Prince and Princess of Wales have chosen to focus on fewer projects in order to spend more time with their three children Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.

Another wrote: “Now that all of the children are in school, they should be getting four to six engagements in a week, each. Even more if you consider how many times multiple engagements are done in a day (see Princess Anne and The King’s numbers).”
