POLL: Should Prince Harry return to the UK for King Charles's 75th birthday celebrations?

Prince Harry has reportedly turned down an invitation to attend King Charles’s landmark 75th birthday celebrations.

The King is due to host close friends and family at Clarence House on November 14 to mark his milestone birthday but the Duke of Sussex is not likely to travel to the UK for the occasion.

Insiders have said Harry declined the offer to spend time with his father, the second time in recent months.

The Sunday Times reported last weekend that the King had invited Harry to Balmoral in September to spend the anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II’s death with him. Harry reportedly snubbed the invite and instead marked the occasion in Windsor.

It has been claimed the father and son still “don’t speak much” due to Charles’s “disappointment and dismay” at Harry’s tell-all memoir Spare and his treatment of Queen Camilla.

A source told The Telegraph: “Communications between the King and Prince Harry remain pretty poor. They don’t speak much, if at all.”

The insider added that this could be due to the “workaholic” monarch preferring to phone or write over text or WhatsApp.

Harry and his wife Meghan Markle have had little contact with the Royal Family since they chose to step down as senior members of the Firm and relocate to the US in 2020.

The Duke briefly reunited with his family at King Charles’s Coronation in May but was on British soil for less than 24 hours.

The couple previously made an effort to attend a garden party at Buckingham Palace for Charles’s 70th birthday by delaying their honeymoon.
